What is Kombucha?
Kombucha is a fermented drink containing black tea – sometimes green tea – sugar, a colony of bacteria, and ‘scoby’ which is a type of yeast. Once the drink has been fermented, it becomes carbonated.

Kombucha is generally considered safe, but according to the Mayo clinic, there have been reports of adverse effects such as infections, stomach upsets, and allergic reactions in some kombucha tea drinkers. However, it is highly likely that people are either drinking too much of it or home brewing with non-sterile equipment.
